Kitsquad have worked tirelessly to try and support as many people as possible in assisting them to get outdoors. Due to our rising costs, we have had to review how we can continue to provide support. For this reason, we have changed our application process.
From the 1st of March 2026, we will have three applications windows. Each application window will be open for a week:
• 1st March
• 1st June
• 1st September
All applications will then be reviewed by the Kitsquad Team and from all the applications 15 will be selected and these applications will be fulfilled. We will accept no more applications until the next application window.
We are a charity that provides hiking and expedition kit and it is applications for this kit that will be accepted. It is important that you make your application relevant and that you provide information regarding what kit you need and what do you plan to do once you have the kit. We will be assessing your application based on what information you provide.
It is also important that you make sure that you submit the correct benefit evidence. We need to see the following statement details:
• Latest statement, showing the date. Any statements not dated within a month of your application will be rejected.
• We need to see your name on the statement. If you are applying on behalf of yourself and a partner, we need to see both of your names on the statement.
• Payment amount. We are not interest in how much you get; we just need to confirm that you are getting something.
• If you are applying for children, we need to see the evidence that the children are on your latest universal credit statement
Failure to provide the correct benefit information will result in your application automatically being declined.
